Guided St. Regis Day Hike & Annual Lighting of the Fire Tower

Join Friends of St. Regis Mountain Fire Tower board members Doug Fitzgerald and Jack Burke for a day long interpretive hike up St. Regis Mountain. Come prepared with sturdy footwear, rain gear, a brown bag lunch and plenty of water. This is a 7 mile RT hike, moderately difficult with some steep sections, expect to be on the trail for 4-5 hours. No dogs. Register early, group size limited. Friday, September 4th, 9am ~ 2pm

Cap the day by returning to the VIC later in the evening to watch the annual lighting of the fire tower from our back deck!

Doug is a licensed Adirondack guide, early in his career as a DEC Operations Supervisor he was the trail crew leader for the construction of the original VIC trail system.

Jack is an avid paddler and cross country skier. He lives adjacent to the VIC and on many winter days he can be found patrolling the trails.
