Crown Point State Historic Site will host Build a Better Birdhouse on Saturday, May 14 from 1:30 until 4:00 pm. All ages are welcome, but this event is geared for those 12 and younger. Participants are limited to 10, not counting parents. Meet at the picnic pavilion.
Join the site manager, Lisa Polay, to learn the basics behind building a better birdhouse and increasing your chances of watching it come to life each spring. After a visit to the banding station to observe the banders at work, they will build a house based on a species you’ll likely see at home and discuss the do’s and don’ts of migration and nesting. Building and painting materials will be supplied. Bring a rachet screwdriver if you have one. Please call 518-597-3666 or email kris.jarrett@parks.ny.gov to register.
