The Knights of Columbus Council #333 looks for a certain someone when they select their Irishman of the Year.
They want an individual who is involved in Ticonderoga, someone who donates their time and energy and heart into the community (and according to Tom Blanchard, a good sense of humor never hurts). Nobody has fulfilled that list or checked more boxes than Robert Dedrick Sr.; he is the organization's Irishman of the Year for 2023.
On Saturday, Mar. 11, the K of C will proudly host the Irishman of the Year Dinner at their St. Patrick’s Celebration. Doors will open at 3 p.m., a corned beef dinner will be served at 6 p.m., and an Irish band will be providing the soundtrack to the party. The highlight of the evening will be an hour-long roast, where friends and community members will have their opportunity to speak their truths, poignant memories, and humorous moments about Dedrick.
“This is meant to be a fun time,” Blanchard said. “It’s always a nice night for the community.”
