First Responder Golf Outing

First Responder Golf Outing

Chilson Volunteer Fire Department's First Responder Golf Outing

Chilson Volunteer Fire Company is partnering with Ticonderoga Golf Course and Five Nations Golf to celebrate and thank area first responders with a day of fun, camaraderie, community outreach—and golf!

On Saturday, June 3, Ticonderoga Golf Course will host Chilson Volunteer Fire Company’s first annual First Responder Golf Outing, while at the same time the next-door Five Nations Golf will host community outreach events.

The golfing fun begins at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start for four-player scramble teams. The public is welcome! Teams can be made up of anyone—women and men, including seniors—but teams that include at least two first-responder members from a department will be eligible to compete for the First-Responder Winners and Runners-Up trophies. (And bragging rights!)

To add to the fun, we’re planning to have a prize competition on every hole, with special competitions just for first responders on some holes. To keep things interesting, competitions will include long drive and closest-to-the-pin contests for various classes of players.

Green fees for the day are $75 for members of Ticonderoga Golf Course, $90 for non-members who are first responders, and $100 for other non-members.

At the same time, folks from throughout the Chilson, Ticonderoga and surrounding areas are invited to take part in more fun activities at Five Nations Golf, which is located just next door to the golf course. Five Nations has generously opened their venue for the day for first responders. Families and friends of the golfers and other members of first-responder departments will particularly be welcome. Chilson Volunteer Fire Company will have a fire truck there for kids to explore, ask questions, and pose for photos. Firefighters will be on hand to explain how the fire engine and its equipment are used to fight fires and rescue accident victims. They’ll also tell folks about how to get involved in their own local first-response departments. And kids and adults will enjoy the driving range, the 18-hole miniature golf course, and the snack bar.
