Local Laws

Local Laws of the former Village of Port Henry are listed here for information.  For those laws that exist in a digital format, a link to the full text is provided (.pdf files). The Village of Port Henry dissolved on April 1, 2017.   How will Local Laws be impacted by the dissolution?  "All Village laws and ordinances will remain effective for up to two years after the date of dissolution. At any point during this two year period, the Town of Moriah Town Board may review existing laws and consider them for adoption by the Town and may revise them as necessary at their discretion. If no action is taken by the Town Board within the two year period, the law(s) will be automatically repealed." --"Village of Port Henry Dissolution Plan", Feb., 2016, as presented by Laberge Group

Laws that have expired, been repealed, or have been replaced by a later law, are lined through.

Further information from the "Dissolution Plan" is indicated in the listing.

STL  A "similar Town Law" exists.  Provisions of Village law if applicable may be incorporated into an existing Town Law.

RTL  Recommended Town Law will need to be revised and written.

(No marking): Would no longer be applicable; outdated or superseded by other laws; would not become part of the Town Law.
